Eva Orner is an Academy Award-winning film producer based in Los Angeles. Her work as a producer, director and writer is threaded with themes of social justice and human rights, among other issues.
Her credits include Untold Desires (winner of Best Documentary at the Australian Film Institute Awards in 1995), Strange Fits of Passion (nominated for the Critics’ Award at the Cannes Film
Festival in 1999), Taxi to the Dark Side (winner of the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary), and Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr Hunter S. Thompson, which screened at Sundance in 2008.
Ms Orner’s made her directorial debut with The Network, a feature documentary made behind the scenes of Afghanistan’s largest television station. It premiered in the US in 2013.
She holds a BA (Honours) in Visual Arts from Monash University in Melbourne.
