Terence Meehan is the former Chairman of Fleet Meehan Specialist, Inc., the third largest specialist firm at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Mr. Meehan was key in the formation and integrations of the firms Fleet Boston Financial and the NYSE specialist firm M.J. Meehan & Co.
Fleet Meehan Specialist made markets for over 400 listed companies, accounting for 30 percent of the Dow and 18 percent of NYSE order flow. Mr. Meehan, a former governor of the NYSE and very active in industry affairs, conceptualized, created and built the Specialist Association at the NYSE, Amex, CHX, PSE/PCS and BSE and served as its president until 1995. He currently holds the position Chairman Emeritus.
Mr. Meehan has served as a Floor Governor on the NYSE and was a member of several NYSE committees and advisory boards. Mr. Meehan is also a Fellow with the Foreign Policy Association, a member of the Georgetown University Board of Regents; a member of the Corporation Visiting Committee for Architecture at MIT and serves on the Board of Overseers of Harvard College’s Committee on University Resources. Mr. Meehan is a member of the Board of Directors of SupplyPro. He is active on the boards of Bread for the World Institute, Alliance to End Hunger, The Interfaith Center of New York, the New York League of Conservation Voters, the Democratic Leadership Council, as well as the Advisory Board of The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers. Mr. Meehan holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and a M.Arch. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
