Steve Edelman is an Emmy-award-winning television host, creator and producer. He graduated from Yale and the Northwestern University School of Law, but his experience working in radio whilst at school and writing TV commercials for an advertising company persuaded him that his future lay in media. His determination is illustrated by his approach to his first big break: he cold-called 30 media outlets looking for employment, one responded and when their anchorman was fired, he was cast as the replacement.

Steve built upon this opportunity to become host of the nationally syndicated TV show The World of People. He also executive produced and co-hosted a daily afternoon show, Good Company—at the time America’s most watched local TV show and the ‘Oprah’ of its day—with his wife for 12 years. In 1994, Steve founded Edelman Productions, a leading supplier of boutique programming to national cable networks including the History Channel and the Travel Channel, and he has since created, executive produced and hosted hundreds of hours of television programming in the US. Edelman equates their success to great storytelling and their consistent ability to uncover exciting on-screen personalities. This success culminated with a National Emmy Award for the Relic Hunter, broadcast on the Travel Channel in 2009, by which time Edelman productions employed over 150 employees with offices in four cities. Steve has since sold much of the company to key staff creatives, but he maintains a successful San Francisco–based production office. He now also runs workshops aimed at helping people through transitional phases of life.
