Paul Schulte is a well-respected market analyst and has over 25 years of experience in equities and fixed income research. He is Chairman & CEO of the Schulte Research Institute and Schulte Research International.
Schulte has extensive experience in academia and military and public policy. He is a Senior Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and runs the consulting firm SGI Ltd. Other academic posts include Adjunct Associate Professor of Finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Adjunct Assistant Professor at FGV and Senior Fellow at The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. He has taught MBA students for the past 13 years, including at NYU, UCLA and Northwestern University.
Schulte previously served as Managing Director and Head of Multi-Strategy and Asia Banks’ Research for Lehman Brothers and then for Nomura International. Before this, he was Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets Research at Big Sky Capital, the $350-million hedge fund based in Santa Monica, CA. He also spent many years at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he set up their research platform in Hong Kong. More recently, he was Global Head of Financial Strategy at China Construction Bank International Securities, making him one of the first westerners to be hired for research by a Chinese bank.
He frequently has been ranked in top-five positions in Euromoney, Asiamoney and Institutional Investor polls and surveys since 1991. In Institutional Investor’s 2010 poll, he received top rankings in All-Asia Banks Team, Asia Equity Strategy Team and Asia Economics Team categories.
