Jonathan Medved has been described by The Washington Post as “one of Israel’s leading high-tech venture capitalists”, and was named one of the top 10 most influential Americans who have impacted Israel by The New York Times.
The serial entrepreneur and investor is founder and CEO of OurCrowd, an equity-crowdfunding platform focused on investing in Israeli and global start-ups.
Before this, Medved was the co-founder of Vringo, a leader in the innovation, development and monetisation of mobile technologies and intellectual property, and its CEO between 2006 and 2012. He oversaw its successful launch on the stock market in June 2010, where it trades under the name VRNG.
Medved was the founder and General Partner of Israel Seed Partners, one of Israel’s leading venture capital funds. Started by Medved in 1995 in his garage, Israel Seed had $262 million under management in four funds by the time he left in 2006.
Prior to Israel Seed, Medved built several successful technology start-ups: he was a founder and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales at California’s MERET Optical Communications and was on the founding management team of Israel’s Accent Software, where he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He has invested in over 130 Israeli start-ups over the past two decades, helping to bring 12 of them to values in excess of $100 million.
He is a frequent guest on US and global TV, appears regularly on US talk radio and writes for The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The Jerusalem Post. He is active on a number of boards of non-profits including the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency and the Jerusalem College of Technology, the Ma’aleh Film School, The Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center, Artists and Musicians for Israel, Bnai David Eli and the Aish HaTorah Boneh Yerushalayim Dinner.
