Economist Dr Horace “Woody” Brock is the founder and president of the economic thinktank Strategic Economic Decisions. Dr Brock analyses ongoing structural changes in the global economy, and counsels global corporations and other institutions accordingly.
He has been engaged as a speaker by the CIA, the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Aspen Institute, private equity groups and hedge funds, among other audiences.
Dr Brock specialises in applications of the modern ‘economics of uncertainty’, originally developed and championed by Nobel Prize winner Professor Kenneth Arrow, to forecasting and risk assessment in the international economy and its asset markets.
His contributions to the field of distributive justice are widely recognized and he developed one of the first mathematical theories applied to the concept of social justice.
His book American Gridlock: Why the Right and Left Are Both Wrong – Commonsense 101 Solutions to the Economic Crises was published in 2012.
Dr. Brock studied at Harvard before earning his MA (International Relations) and PhD (Political Economy) from Princeton University.
