Professor Susan Greenfield is member of the United Kingdoms’ House of Lords and currently works as a professor of pharmacology at Oxford University. She is an active contributor to the world of neuroscience and continues to spend her time exploring the inner workings of the human mind. Over the years she has leant her ideas to around 30 publications and more than 100 research papers in her field.

In 2003, Greenfield presented her own neuro-scientific theory of consciousness in The Private Life of the Brain, which combines the relationship between the sensual, emotional and rational states of the mind. Greenfield has developed a keen interest in examining the ways that modern technology can influence the way young people think. Meanwhile, she is also examining the causes behind diseases that tend to afflict an older mind, as the head of a multi-disciplinary research group that explores the brain mechanisms linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Greenfield’s work in neuroscience has earned her more than 30 honorary degrees from her institutions and almost as many awards from a vast range of institutes and societies from across the world.
