In this subject, you will come to understand the importance and objectives of organisational management, the various core frameworks required to design and set up organisations, and the tools and techniques effective for the assessment and improvement of organisational performance, including how to identify pertinent trends to improve overall business performance.
Fundamentals of Marketing
In this subject, you will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of marketing, its function in business and the approaches to marketing management. Upon completion of this subject, you will also learn how marketing has evolved in line with digital capabilities, as well as why many fundamentals have remained unchanged. You will also develop the ability to articulate basic marketing goals and plans.
Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
This subject introduces you to what it means to be an entrepreneur, the fundamental tools of the trade and the role of entrepreneurship both as it has been and as it currently is. You will be introduced to the theoretical concepts of entrepreneurial venture creation in a range of contexts.
Fundamentals of Project Management
In this subject, you will learn what constitutes a project, the various components and stages of a project, as well as the core competencies and approaches of an effective project manager. Fundamentals of Leadership
In this subject, you will develop a theoretical understanding of leadership in a general business context, and how different leadership models apply in varying types of organisations. You will investigate the fundamental differences between management and leadership, as well as how leadership capability is developed in individuals and organisations. You will explore the concepts of organisational culture and how the traits of an individual leader can influence the overall culture of a business. In addition, you will develop your own leadership style, linking it to relevant theoretical approaches.
Competitive Market Positioning
In this subject, you will build upon basic marketing strategy knowledge to develop a market positioning strategy. You will be introduced to more complex theories and frameworks to support decision-making and position your organisation attractively in competitive markets—considering market trends, market composition and competitor strategies and activity.
In this subject, you will develop a deep understanding of what makes up different product types. You will develop your understanding of product life cycles for both goods and services and the various strategies that need to be developed to manage products through each stage. You will also learn how to manage product groups, foster sustainable customer value, and identify opportunities for product innovation.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
In this subject, you will learn the increasingly important role of Corporate Responsibility (CSR) and how it has evolved over recent years. In addition to the key considerations of CSR for organisations and the opportunities and risks involved in adopting or ignoring CSR, you will develop your understanding of the various methodologies that are being introduced to foster CSR.
Digital Business and Disruption

In this subject, you will develop your understanding of and skills in the foundations of business accounting. You will also gain the knowledge and skills required to prepare and interpret basic financial reports for organisations of varying maturity, while also exploring the theories that underpin business accounting. In addition, you will develop the capability to identify any financial trends of note, in order to make recommendations to decision makers of financial changes that should be made.

In this subject, you will be introduced to design thinking and why this modern business concept is useful and valuable to all kinds of businesses. In particular, you will engage with the design thinking process—from ideation through to evaluation—as well as exploring the role it plays in current businesses, including the theory and philosophy behind design thinking and the different approaches to design thinking. You will have an opportunity to apply your knowledge by engaging in a design thinking process for an existing organisation, or your own venture.
In this subject, you will be introduced to the concepts of Big Data and how it can be applied in modern business contexts. Upon developing your understanding of the various methodologies for collecting and interpreting Big Data, you will work on its application to improve business performance. Upon completion of this subject, you will have a demonstrated capacity to identify and articulate appropriate metrics for measuring business performance across all departments in varying business types. In addition, you will be able to recognise pertinent trends to help improve overall business performance.
In this subject, you will be introduced to the various types of marketing research. You will develop a deep understanding of the various types of marketing information available and those most appropriate for varying business scenarios. You will also develop the capability to design research strategies, in turn creating and interpreting reports to provide useful information to business decision makers. In addition, you will develop your skills in identifying useful market trends and what these trends may mean for the organisation.
Advanced Digital Marketing
In this subject, you will be introduced to the various digital marketing strategies that have rapidly evolved in recent years. You will develop the skills and understanding required for designing and implementing these strategies for various organisation types and their stages of maturity, utilising a plethora of modern technologies. In addition, you will develop the skills required to effectively assess and improve digital marketing campaigns, as well as learn how digital marketing plays a crucial role in supporting more traditional techniques.
Integrated Marketing Communications
In this subject, you will build on skills developed in previous subjects to further develop and explore the concepts and strategies of marketing communications. You will develop and design strategies for communicating specific messages to particular customer segments, in line with the broader business goals, while utilising a variety of media and channels to maximise impacts. In addition, you will learn about the foundations of brands and effective branding strategy.
Marketing of Services
In this subject, you will develop a thorough understanding of the nuances of marketing business services. Through gaining an understanding of the various levels and components of services, you will develop your ability to design marketing strategies specific to services with the goal of maximising value.
Marketing Strategy and Planning
In this subject, you will learn how to merge the broad array of skills you have developed, in order to design holistic marketing strategies. You will learn to understand the relevance of broader business challenges, define the opportunities and goals, determine the marketing strategy, as well as learn how to work with management from other business functions in developing marketing plans.

Level 1 Elective Subject 1: Business Model Analysis
In this subject, you will gain a foundational understanding of the core concepts of a business model and the importance of each component in creating unique value and sustainable business success. In addition you will develop skills in assessing both the current and future risk and the opportunity of a business model, based on strategic market analysis and forward planning.
Level 1 Elective Subject 2: Managerial Communication
In this subject, you will develop your understanding of the importance and various methods of business communications. You will be introduced to the methodologies and techniques of both formal and informal communication and will develop your skills in selecting and developing appropriate communication methodologies for various business scenarios and objectives.
Level 1 Elective Subject 3: Introduction to Innovation
In this subject, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of innovation, its role within entrepreneurship, as well as how the key tools and methodologies can be applied effectively to foster innovation. In addition, you will explore the key differences between innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the function of innovation within both new and established organisations. Throughout this subject you will develop the ability to apprise basic innovation programs and identify innovation challenges faced by established organisations.

Level 2 Elective Subject 1: Corporate Structuring and Business Law
In this subject, you will develop an understanding of the law in relation to business. You will come to understand the various business structuring options and the benefits and drawbacks of each, as well as the processes involved in setting-up the respective structures. Beyond this, you will develop the skills and understanding to interpret basic business laws and in this subject, you will learn about the digital economy and the associated new breed of high-growth digital businesses. In addition to exploring the theoretical understanding of the differences between digital and physical organisations and the methods of developing and delivering value to customers, you will develop skills in identifying digital business opportunities and risks for established organisations. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to design business models for digital organisations, as well as adapt more traditional business models to suit the digital economy.
Level 2 Elective Subject 2: Social Enterprise
In this subject, you will be given an introduction to the concepts of social entrepreneurship, how it differs from commercial entrepreneurship from a development and operational perspective, as well as the opportunities available to social entrepreneurs in a range of sectors. In addition, you will learn to define the various social enterprise types, as well as the unique challenges these organisations face in launch, growth and operation. Upon completion of this subject, you will also gain an understanding of the relevance of social enterprise fostered by established for-profit organisations.
Level 2 Elective subject 3: Applied Entrepreneurship – Concept Development and Validation
In this subject, you will commence applying the skills you have developed as aspiring entrepreneurs. In doing so, you will undertake detailed research and planning, as well as practical creative exercises—to create, explore and validate conceptual venture ideas.

Level 3 Elective Subject 1: The Global Economy
In this subject, you will come to understand the new paradigm of business that is the global economy and the resulting implications for both established and new organisations. You will develop your understanding of and ability to identify drivers of global change. You will also learn to articulate and interpret the resulting global trends to identify opportunities and challenges from both an operational and strategic perspective.
Level 3 Elective Subject 2: Management Strategy
In this subject, you will develop your ability to design effective business strategies for organisations of varying types and stages of maturity. Through an introduction to the fundamentals of strategy, the evolution of strategy and a range of strategic methodologies, you will learn how to respond to specific business scenarios and design proactive strategies towards achieving business goals. In addition, you will investigate how organisations can proactively address their future success, through the effective use of trend analysis techniques.
Level 3 Elective Subject 3: Managing Diverse Workplaces
In this subject, you will be introduced to the typical opportunities and challenges that arise from teams of diverse backgrounds. You will learn how these diverse backgrounds can impact working styles and the type of management and leadership style required for maximum productivity outcomes. Through this subject you will further develop your management and leadership skills so as to be able to identify key staff differences that inform the design of effective management procedures and policies, thereby creating positive working environments.
Level 3 Elective Subject 4: Managing Employee Relations
In this subject, you will be introduced to the regulations of employment across all types of staff. You will develop your abilities to design workforce policies and procedures in line with Australian law, in order to foster safe and enjoyable work environments. In addition, you will learn fundamental approaches to dealing with various staff challenges in the workplace.
Level 3 Elective Subject 5: Organisational Change
In this subject, you will be introduced to the foundational concepts of organisational change and change management. You will develop your ability to plan proactively, as well as lead and manage the organisational changes that may be required – such as new policy adoption, new product development or some form of innovation.
Level 3 Elective Subject 6: Venture Capital Raising
In this subject, you will develop the skills and understanding necessary to raise capital for new and existing ventures of various types and stages of maturity. In addition to understanding the various types of funding available and the benefits and drawbacks of each, you will be able to develop strategies to source and raise funds, using accurate venture valuations.
Level 3 Elective Subject 7: Stakeholder Management
In this subject, you will be given an introduction to the concepts of stakeholder management. You will become exposed to the various categories of stakeholders and the respective expectations and impacts each can have.
