* The Bridging the Gap: Digital Disruption Seminar is a required bridging module allowing students to explore how digital technologies, business models, and big data are changing industry goods and services, organizational culture, markets and processes. The online seminar consists of 45 minutes of self-study and presentations and 15 minutes of moderated discussion.

Module 1: Develop Critical Thinking In Others
Assess individual, team critical, and creative thinking skills. Establish an environment that encourages the application of critical and creative thinking. Lastly, monitor and improve thinking practices.
Module 2: Communicate With Influence
Identify communication requirements, negotiate to achieve agreed outcomes, participate and lead meetings, and make business presentations.
Module 3: Develop And Implement Business Plans
In this module, you will learn to establish a business plan, implement a business plan, and respond to performance data.
Module 4: Manage Innovation And Continuous Improvement
Establish ways of working within team, identify improvements, and implement innovative processes. Develop workplace culture and tools for continuous improvement, innovation, and learning.
Module 5: Lead And Manage Organisational Change
Develop change management strategy, implement change management strategy, and evaluate change management strategy.
Module 6: Provide Leadership Across The Organisation
Communicate organisational mission and goals, influence groups and individuals, build and support teams, demonstrate personal and professional competence.
Module 7: Apply Critical Thinking For Complex Problem Solving
Scope the problem solving process, lead the solution development process, and refine the solution for implementation.
Module 8: Contribute To Strategic Workforce Planning
Research planning requirements, contribute to the development of a strategic workforce plan, and support the implementation of a strategic workforce plan.
Module 9: Develop Marketing Plans
Research, prepare, write, and finalise a marketing plan.
Module 10: Develop, Implement, and Maintain WHS Management Systems
Support and facilitate the implementation of a WHSMS. Develop and implement WHS policy and plan, measure and evaluate WHS performance, and review and improve overall WHSMS.
Module 11: Managing Money and Finance
Students will develop an understanding and skills in the foundations of business accounting while interpreting basic financial reports for organisations of varying maturity. They will also develop the capability to identify financial trends and challenges and inform business decisions.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Interpret and prepare basic financial reports;
- Interpret basic financial reports to identify challenges and inform business decisions;
- Prepare financial information packages to support decision-makers;
- Proactively identify business finance challenges
Module 12: Capital Raising
In this module, students will develop the skills and understanding necessary to raise capital for new and existing ventures of various types and stages of maturity. In addition to understanding the various types of funding available and the benefits and drawbacks of each, students will be able to develop strategies to source and raise funds with accurate venture valuations.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- Understand various capital fundraising systems, methods and strategies and accurately value market potential for new ventures
- Analyse the various types of business funding available to organisations
- Develop pitch capabilities to secure funding for new ventures
- Create financial projections to support business investment decisions
Module 13: Business in the Global Economy
In this module, students will explore the new business paradigm – the global economy. Students will discuss how global drivers and globalisation affects a business environment and how economic and political systems motivate business decision-making. Students will also be given opportunities to critique historical and modern financial, environmental, and social sustainability policies and practices from a strategic and operational perspective.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Analyse how globalisation and global drivers affect business environments
- Critically assess how economic and political systems motivate business decision-making
- Develop strategies to create high engagement levels of corporate social responsibility for an organisation
- Develop financial, environmental, and social sustainability policies and practices for the global economy
Module 14: Diversity and Inclusion
In this module, students will explore the typical opportunities and challenges that come with teams made of people from diverse backgrounds and how this can impact working styles and the type of management and leadership required to leverage diversity. Students will further develop their management and leadership skills to identify the impact of staff differences, to design effective management procedures and policies, and to create positive and productive working environments.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Recognise the role cultural difference plays in a workforce and based on evidence, develop a clear workforce plan to cater for cultural difference
- Analyse the respective opportunities and challenges various staff and teams may bring
- Design culturally appropriate workforce strategies
- Identify and communicate strategies to provide a supportive and productive workplace for diverse teams
Module 15: Applied Leadership
In this module, students will develop a theoretical and applied understanding of leadership in a general business context and how different leadership models apply in various organisations. Students will investigate the differences between management and leadership and how leadership capability is developed in individuals and organisations. Students will explore the conceptions of organisational culture and the role that the traits of an individual leader can play in influencing the overall culture of a business. In addition, students will explore the development of their own leadership style, linking it to relevant theoretical approaches.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge and a systematic understanding of the concepts of leadership and personality types and the implications for business performance
- Analyse the role of culture within a workplace
- Design operational processes to maximise team output
- Clearly articulate their individual approach to leadership
Module 16: Applied Industry Portfolio
This module aims for students to develop the practical and professional abilities to apply the knowledge, skills and insights gained from the modules within their course. Students will select one of these options:
- Developing solutions to a real management or business innovation opportunity identified within their own place of work, industry or start-up, or,
- Creative exploration of a business innovation opportunity as a conceptual idea.
Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
- Prepare an independent applied project outline to explore a business innovation opportunity, or conceptualise an idea
- Apply relevant and appropriate design principles and methodologies relevant to the selected opportunity or idea
- Conduct a critical literature review and demonstrate conceptual and theoretical understanding of relevant literature to the chosen applied project
- Demonstrate the ability to choose appropriate and relevant tools and methods to develop the solution to their chosen opportunity
- Create relevant collateral to showcase the proposed solution or idea and demonstrate and evidence commercial benefit and/or ROI of the project
