The Bachelor (Hons) of Applied Innovation is designed to foster you as a graduate, with cognitive and applied skills to enable you, through innovation, to add value to your employer, or to enable you to innovate within the context of your own business or start-up. You will:

  • Gain a broad and coherent knowledge of business fundamentals, theories and debates and equip yourself with real-world insights underpinned by relevant business  frameworks and tools, required to innovate within business and industry.
  • Be able to identify, critically evaluate and innovate management challenges within new and established organisations, fusing both traditional and modern approaches towards achieving best possible outcomes.
  • Develop the skills to create and design innovative approaches to business within a range of markets, communicate them in an appropriate manner to a range of audiences, and consider social, financial and environmental outcomes.
  • Develop a portfolio of applied tools and professional insights relevant within a broad range of industries, whilst benefiting from the flexibility of online delivery.

This module introduces you to what it means to be an entrepreneur, including the fundamental tools of the trade and the role of entrepreneurship, both as it has been and as it currently is operating. In this module, you will learn about the digital economy and the associated new breed of high-growth digital businesses. In addition to exploring the theoretical understanding of the differences between digital and physical organisations and the methods of developing and delivering value to customers, you will develop skills in identifying digital business opportunities, the risks for established organisations and will be able to design business models for digital organisations as well as adapt more traditional business models to suit the digital economy.

PROJECT

Major Applied Industry Project

This module enables you to consolidate your skills, knowledge and insights into:

1) Developing solutions to a real digital marketing opportunity identified within your own place of work, industry or start-up, or

2) The creative exploration of a digital marketing opportunity as a conceptual idea. The aim of this module is for you to develop the practical and professional abilities to apply the knowledge, skills and insights gained from the modules within your course.

Entry Requirements

96 New UCAS points or equivalent, e.g. from A level passes at A2 in at least 2 subjects, or from BTEC Extended Diploma or Diploma.
OR
International equivalents are set out in the International Blue Book, e.g. in the USA this could be a US High School Graduation Diploma with an overall average B*(or 80%/CGPA of 3.0/4.5).
